From a TCM perspective, a good eating habit and proper nutrition is essential to promote recovery of health and strength after illness.
-Generally, eat in a calm and relaxed atmosphere and do not rush your meal
-Chew slowly and thoroughly
-Do not eat meals late at night
During the recovery process, your body needs to focus its energy on healing, hence, it is important to consume easily
digestible food that can fortify the body.
-Eat warm cooked food, avoid raw, cold food and iced beverages.
-Eat a balanced diet of vegetables, fruits, whole grains, seeds and nuts.
-Avoid oily, greasy and fried foods
One acupoint which you can massage daily to improve sleep quality and relieve nausea
and vomiting is Nei Guan acupoint.
-Measure three finger widths up your arm, from the wrist line.
-Use your thumb to locate the point in the hollow between the two bones and in the middle of the tendons.
-Press the point firmly for 2-3 mins, repeating eight times on each wrist.
Another acupoint which you can massage daily to strengthen the digestive system is Zu San Li acupoint.
-It is located on the lateral side of the leg below the knee, four finger widths down from the bottom of your knee cap
-Use your thumb to press and knead in a tiny circular motion for 2-3mins, repeating eight times on each leg.
If you are unsure whether you are getting sufficient vitamins and nutrients from your regular diet, you can add a booster in the
form of supplements such as lingzhi supplement.
Lingzhi can help boost the immune system, improve blood circulation, sleep quality, concentration and overall well-being.
