When most people think about healthcare, they imagine sterile hospital rooms, doctors in white coats, and the familiar routines of blood tests, scans, and prescriptions. But step into the Osteopathic Treatment Centre, tucked away in Singapore since 1984, and you enter a world where healing does not just mean treating illness – it means unlocking balance, resilience, and vitality across the whole human experience.
I founded the Osteopathic Treatment Centre over forty years ago and have been building something rare: a space where osteopathy, podiatry, chiropody, ayurveda, hypnotherapy, therapeutic massage, and rolfing coexist under one roof. This vision of mine has turned what was once considered “alternative” into a trusted haven for patients seeking relief from pain, stress, and chronic conditions. Osteopathic Treatment Centre is not simply a clinic. It is a philosophy.
A VISION BORN IN 1984
Back in the 1980s, Singapore was rapidly modernising. Western medicine dominated the health landscape, and the very idea of a “Centre for Complementary and Alternative Medicine” (CCAM) seemed foreign. But I, who was trained in the structural science of osteopathy, saw something missing. Patients were being treated for symptoms, but not always for causes. I wanted to create a place where healing could be deeper, more integrative – where body, mind, and spirit were all part of the conversation. So, in 1984, I opened the Osteopathic Treatment Centre. At first, it was simply about osteopathy – manual adjustments, structural realignment, and functional healing. But soon, the vision grew and I thought: what if patients could access multiple modalities together, in a way that complemented one another? That idea became the foundation of our Centre’s enduring legacy.
AT THE HEART OF THE CENTRE: OSTEOPATHY
At the heart of the Osteopathic Treatment Centre lies osteopathy, which I practise and champion fervently. Trained in the principles of structural alignment and functional healing, I had introduced osteopathy to Singapore when few had even heard of it. Through gentle, precise adjustments and soft-tissue techniques, I have helped generations of patients overcome back pain, sports injuries, migraines, and posture-related issues. My work is rooted in the osteopathic belief that the body is a self-healing organism when its structure is properly aligned. I try to be more than a doctor for my patients; I strive to be a teacher, mentor, and the cornerstone of our Centre’s philosophy.

ROSALIE TIO
PODIATRY & CHIROPODY WITH ROSALIE TIO
Healing the body often starts at its foundation: the feet. At our Centre, podiatry and chiropody are led by Rosalie Tio, who brings her expertise and dedication to keeping patients mobile, balanced, and pain-free. She treats conditions ranging from bunions and plantar fasciitis to corns, calluses, and diabetic foot complications. Rosalie’s approach is both clinical and compassionate, ensuring patients not only find relief but also prevent future problems. When integrated with osteopathy, her work creates a holistic loop: healthy feet support better posture, alignment, and overall body function.

DR. SAVITHA GUNTURY
AYURVEDA WITH DR. SAVITHA GUNTURY
Adding the dimension of Ayurveda, our Centre is home to Dr. Savitha Guntury, a practitioner deeply rooted in this 5,000-year-old Indian system of medicine. Dr. Savitha brings the wisdom of dosha balance, herbal therapies, detox programmes, meditation, and nutritional guidance to patients seeking holistic care. Her work is highly personalised, tailoring treatments to each individual’s constitution, lifestyle, and needs. In an age of stress and lifestyle diseases, Dr. Savitha’s Ayurvedic guidance offers grounding and vitality, complementing our Centre’s more structural therapies.

ANITA KASHYAP
HYPNOTHERAPY WITH ANITA KASHYAP
The mind is as powerful a force in healing as the body, and at the Osteopathic Treatment Centre, hypnotherapy is guided by Anita Kashyap. With a calm presence and deep expertise, Anita helps patients enter focused, relaxed states where they can reshape habits, release fears, and overcome long-held emotional blocks. She has supported patients in areas such as smoking cessation, stress management, sleep improvement, and confidence- building. Her work exemplifies the Centre’s holistic ethos: when the mind releases tension, the body often follows.

JEANETTE KHOE
THERAPEUTIC MASSAGE WITH JEANETTE KHOE
Few therapies are as universally appreciated as massage, but in the hands of Jeanette Khoe, therapeutic massage becomes much more than relaxation. Jeanette combines clinical skill with intuitive touch, working deeply into muscles and fascia to ease tension, restore circulation, and accelerate recovery. Patients often come to her after injuries, surgeries, or simply from the wear- and-tear of modern life. Her massage sessions not only complement osteopathy but also provide emotional release, reminding patients that healing can be as much about touch as technique.

VINCENT LEE.
ROLFING WITH VINCENT LEE
Perhaps one of the most transformative offerings at our Centre is Rolfing Structural Integration, guided by Vincent Lee. Vincent works systematically on the body’s connective tissues to realign posture, free restrictions, and bring the body into balance with gravity. His patients often describe not only physical relief but also emotional release, as the body lets go of years of stored tension. Athletes, dancers, and those recovering from chronic issues turn to Vincent for breakthroughs in mobility and freedom of movement. His work adds a unique depth to our Centre’s holistic model.

A TAPESTRY OF HEALING
What makes Osteopathic Treatment Centre extraordinary is not just our range of therapies, but also our team of practitioners – each a specialist in their own field, yet all working together toward the same vision of integrative healing. A patient might see me for osteopathy, Rosalie for podiatry, and Jeanette for massage – creating a treatment plan that is both comprehensive and personalised. Another person may combine Ayurveda with hypnotherapy, addressing stress and balance from both physical and mental perspectives. The effect is synergistic: each therapy amplifies the others, and each practitioner brings their own unique gift to the table.
STORIES THAT SPEAK LOUDER THAN DATA
While techniques and research matter, what truly defines our Centre are the human stories. From the young athlete who turned to Vincent’s Rolfing after repeated injuries and found new alignment and freedom in her stride, to the busy executive who, with Anita’s hypnotherapy, finally conquered insomnia that had plagued him for years. And the diabetic patient who, under Rosalie’s careful podiatry, avoided dangerous complications and maintained his mobility; or the mother who turned to Dr. Savitha’s Ayurveda and Jeanette’s massage to regain strength and calm after childbirth. There is also the patient who came to me with chronic back pain, only to find not just relief but renewed vitality through osteopathy. These stories carry the essence of our Centre: healing that is personal, multidimensional, and lasting.
WHY IT MATTERS TODAY
In today’s healthcare landscape, CAM (Complementary and Alternative Medicine) is no longer fringe. The World Health Organisation recognises its role, and patients around the world increasingly seek integrative care. The Osteopathic Treatment Centre has been ahead of the curve since 1984, offering what modern medicine now acknowledges: that true healing requires treating the person, not just the problem.
THE NEXT CHAPTER
As we look to the future, our mission remains the same: to honour the body’s natural ability to heal while blending the wisdom of multiple traditions. With my pioneering spirit, and a team of practitioners like Rosalie, Dr. Savitha, Anita, Jeanette, and Vincent, our Centre continues to embody its founding vision. Here, healing knows no borders.

CLOSING THOUGHT
Forty years on, the Osteopathic Treatment Centre is more than a clinic. It is a legacy of integrative healing, a family of practitioners, and a sanctuary for those seeking balance and vitality. And in a world where medicine can feel fragmented and impersonal, our Centre stands as proof that healing is most powerful when delivered by skilled hands, open hearts, and a team united by purpose.
