One day, a man went to the doctor because he was feeling very unwell. The doctor ran some tests and then gave him the news: “I’m sorry to tell you this, but you have a rare disease that will only allow you to live for another 24 hours.”

The man was devastated. He went home and told his wife, and they spent the rest of the day doing all the things they had always wanted to do together, but had never found the time.

The next day, the man woke up feeling perfectly fine. He couldn’t believe it. He went back to the doctor and told him what had happened.

The doctor looked at him and said, “I’m sorry, there must have been a mix-up at the lab. Your test results got mixed up with someone else’s. But hey, it’s always good to live each day as if it were your last, right?”

The man thought about it for a moment and then replied, “Yeah, but I spent all my money yesterday!”
