The Rise of Smart Homes

In recent years, “smart homes” have grown increasingly popular. These homes feature devices that boost convenience, efficiency, and quality of life. Imagine returning from work to find your lights set to the perfect mood, the air-conditioner cooling the room, and your favourite music playing. With a simple voice command, your weekly movie starts instantly.

To better understand the future of living spaces, we visited the Smart Living Gallery at 61 Upper Paya Lebar Road. It was an eye-opening experience into the possibilities of modern technology.

A Glimpse of Tomorrow

Stepping into the gallery, we felt a sense of anticipation. The entrance showcased some of the latest innovations in smart lighting, hubs, and locks. Friendly and knowledgeable staff guided us through the concepts of smart living and explained how each component fits into a connected system.

The range of smart lighting stood out immediately. Brands like Yeelight and Aqara, one of China’s largest smart home solution providers, revealed the transformative power of intelligent lighting.

Gone are the days of flipping switches. Smart switches and hubs let you control your home lighting remotely, while colour-changing movable lights allow easy adjustments in brightness and placement. Smart lighting offers convenience, customization, and lower energy consumption—combining comfort with sustainability.

The Power of Automation

Next, we entered a living room and entertainment mock-up powered by Google Home. The Aqara D100 Smart Door Lock linked seamlessly with other devices, offering nine unlock modes from fingerprints to PINs. As soon as you enter, your lights and air-conditioner respond automatically.

The live demo highlighted just how far automation can go. At a simple voice command, curtains closed, lights dimmed, the air-conditioner switched on, and a movie started playing on the smart TV. Even the volume adjusted on cue. “Sit back and relax,” the staff encouraged—and we did, while the AI handled everything.

A Full-Fledged Smart Home

On the second floor, the gallery featured a complete living space, including a living room, kitchen, and bedrooms. Here, the benefits of magnetic track lighting became clear: spotlights and line lights could be shifted anywhere to suit your needs.

In the bedroom, the Marble Flex smart bed impressed us most. It allowed customised adjustments for the back, neck, and legs, eliminating the need for constant pillow fluffing. With pressure-relieving positions and preset options, restful sleep felt within easy reach.

An Enjoyable Journey in a Connected Space

Throughout our visit, staff members patiently answered questions, gave hands-on demonstrations, and offered insights into integration. They showed how these technologies can fit into daily life and adapt to individual preferences.

If you have time, take a trip into the future at the Smart Living Gallery. The immersive journey demonstrates how technology can simplify daily tasks, improve comfort, and elevate your lifestyle. With helpful staff guiding you through device selection and integration, transforming your home into a smart, connected haven becomes both seamless and exciting. PRIME
