Dr Devinder Singh is a Senior Consultant Cardiologist and Cardiac Electrophysiologist with more than two decades of clinical experience. He is one of the few cardiologists in Singapore with dual subspecialty training in both interventional electrophysiology and cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMR), allowing him to comprehensively assess and manage patients with heart rhythm and structural heart conditions. He leads Cadence Heart Centre with a practice focused on arrhythmia care, advanced mapping, catheter ablation and cardiac device therapies.
Education & Professional Training
- MBBS, Gauhati University, Assam, India
- MD (Internal Medicine), Maharishi Dayanand University, Haryana, India
- Member of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP, UK)
- Advanced cardiology and electrophysiology training at National University Heart Centre Singapore (NUHCS)
- Fellowship in Cardiac Electrophysiology at Duke University, USA; trained in Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging (CMR)
Subspecialty Expertise
- Management of heart rhythm disorders, including atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia.
- Advanced electrophysiology procedures: catheter ablation, implantable devices (pacemakers, ICD, CRT)
Dr Singh’s dual expertise in electrophysiology and cardiac MRI provides patients with a detailed and integrated evaluation of arrhythmias and underlying structural heart conditions.
Contributions to Public Healthcare
Prior to his private practice, Dr Singh served as Senior Consultant in the Department of Cardiology at National University Heart Centre Singapore (NUHCS), Visiting Consultant at Ng Teng Fong General Hospital, and Director of Cardiac Informatics at National University Hospital (NUH). He also is Assistant Professor at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, NUS, and has contributed to medical education and training of cardiology residents.
Key Focus Areas
- Rapid assessment and management of palpitations, fainting (syncope), irregular heartbeat
- Comprehensive care for atrial fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, supraventricular tachycardia
- Device therapy: pacemakers, ICDs, CRT
- Use of advanced imaging (cardiac MRI) for diagnosis of heart rhythm and structural heart disease
- Heart health screening and prevention of arrhythmia-related complications
Clinical Approach
Dr Singh combines in-depth electrophysiology training with experience in both public and private settings. He emphasises a personalised diagnostic and treatment pathway, where patients are clearly guided through investigations and procedure options, and follow-up care is coordinated in a dedicated heart-centre environment.
